The 1975 Escort MK2 of our customer Dennis with original 60hp has been completely dismantled over the past 5 years & consistently trimmed for lightweight construction in accordance with FIA regulations… The discreetly optimized 2L 16V engine from Opel can handle over 200 horses & is powered by a LITE BLOX LB20XX, which is appropriately integrated into the vehicle concept.
The car was welded and reinforced in accordance with the old FIA Group 4 regulations.
Only the rear section was not converted to upright shock absorbers, as I want to drive the car in its original trim.
The rather unusual choice to install a 2 liter 16V Opel engine was the result of browsing through English Ford tuning magazines.
Since this engine was rock solid and already very powerful in the original, the idea arose to build a 200 hp unit with a few simple steps.
Unfortunately, the reason why nobody else in Europe had done this was revealed to me during assembly.
Almost every purchased component had to be modified.
I completely assembled the car once before painting it to see if everything I had built would work.
But in the end, unreasonableness prevailed and due to the “moderate changes”, the car should have between 200 and 230 hp after the performance test in March.
The color of the car is the original “Harrier silver” with the name Strato-Silver.
However, as I also wanted to add a touch of modernity, I came up with the idea of carbon parts.
By retaining the original shapes, they are also contemporary.
Paired with the rare BBS E30 magnesium rims, an absolute feast for the eyes.
With this goal in mind, I had no choice but to fall back on your dream battery.
The focus here was on the great looks, the killswitch, as it often has longer downtimes, as well as the main argument of the immobilizer.
The car should not become a trailer queen.
I think the current feedback from the scene suggests that this car will provide for some long gasoline conversations and photo sessions at meetings and exhibitions.”
