"plan was to have a good running car,
but not in the M3 look as most people do..."
The <1200kg BMW 325i stroker - powered by LITE↯BLOX LBtrack
When Jan is not working on his track tool, he earns his living as a developer in the automotive industry and also works as a personal driving coach for race track and driving safety.
The E36 - which Jan affectionately calls a "suitcase" - was purchased as a standard 325i without the M package in 3rd hand and the initial plan was a cheap club sport conversion to have fun on the racetrack - but motivated by his job as an instructor, it was already clear in the first conversion phase that it would be a bit more of a challenge...
Today Jan one of the fastest E36 325i on the Nordschleife and apart from a handful of components, nothing is still in standard condition:
To save weight, everything that was no longer needed was removed and a GRP dashboard was fitted. For safety, there were of course proper seats, belts and a roll cage.
We continued with the engine. Here Jan gave the engine builder Oliver Storm Concept and had a 2.5 liter stroker engine built that is second to none in terms of power delivery.
Of course, the chassis components also had to be adapted to the overall concept. Here, Carl Schwarz from Custom Racetec put his hands on it. Everything is now mounted in Uniball, the body was adapted in the rear fender area to accommodate the 235/45 DIREZZA tires on 9×17 MOTEC rims. In addition, the installed KW Clubsport suspension has not only been adapted with modified spring rates.
To fuel the overall "E36 325i Sleeper" concept & save even more kilos, Jan has been relying on our brand new LITE↯BLOX LBtrack (2.3kg) plus matching Adapter plate the "suitcase" additional 9kg compared to the previously used lightweight lead-acid battery and provides more starting power:
