The versatile charging booster has two charging levels
- In 30 A mode, the device can be used to recharge the second battery with up to 30 A.
- In 10 A caravan mode, the charging booster enables batteries in a caravan or trailer to be recharged via the plug coupling. In this mode, the charging current is limited to a maximum of 10 A.
The intelligent charge booster is a clocked step-up/step-down converter that compensates for the fluctuating alternator voltage. As soon as an alternator signal is applied to the charge booster (D+), it automatically goes into operation. The connected second battery is charged independently of the alternator voltage. The switchover to charge retention is current-dependent and automatic.
Note: Additional loads should only be connected to the second battery.
The most important advantages of an IUoU charging booster
- By using a charging booster, powerful consumers can be operated on the second battery even when the engine is running.
- Safe starting is guaranteed, even after long downtimes (without charging).
- The service life of both batteries (starter battery and on-board battery) is considerably extended by an optimally charged and well-maintained second battery.
- When the nominal capacity is reached, the booster switches to trickle charge mode.
- Different battery types can be charged using the charging booster
- The charging booster can also be used in stand-alone solar systems with separate 12 V systems.
